In Memory of my
JANE R. MANTSCH......August 19, 1918 - July 31, 2000

6 months and 6 days from Grandpa going "home"........
Grandma was called "home".  They both are greatly missed.

If nobody smiled, and nobody cheered, and nobody helped us along,
If each and every minute, everyone looked after himself, and
good things all went to the strong,
If nobody cared just a little for you, and nobody cared about me,
what a dreary old world this would be!

Oh, if we were rich as the richest on earth and strong as the strongest
that lives,
Yet never we knew the delight and the charm
of the smile which the other one gives,
If kindness were never a part of ourselves,
though we owned all the land we could see,
And friendship meant nothing at all to us here,
what a dreary old world this would be!

Life is sweet, just because of the friends we have made
and the things in common we share;
We want to live on, not because of oursleves,
but because of people who care.
It's giving and doing for somebody else---
on that all life's splendor depends,
And the joy of this world, when you've summed it all up,
is found in the making of friends!!

This poem was written to grandma from one of her dear friends,
Dorothy.  This poem is exactly how grandma lived her life!!!

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,

For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne,
He said "This is eternity,
And all I've promised you."

Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same day
There's no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times
You did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.

But you have been forgiven
And now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

"You will never be disappointed about tomorrow, if you know
The Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour today".

I have many fond memories of her. 40 years of memories to be exact. I will always have those memories and will always cherish the times spent with her. She was many things to many people, but to me, she was a very special person. Thank-you JESUS for giving me the time with her. She always had a smile for everyone and liked people. She was kind, loving, tender, and generous. One thing that I will always remember about her is, that she always said....."NO TEARS".  She felt that if one cried, one was weak.  She fought back many a tear.  She taught us to be strong.  She loved life.  She loved to cook, quilt, sew, crochet, and was ALWAYS there for anyone that needed her.  She put everyone else before herself.
"You don't have to ask God for it.....just ask Grandma".
That's the way she has always been.  Always giving unconditionally.
She tolerated grandpa with his dogs.  She loved grandpa dearly!

Grandma, along with grandpa were always there for my daughters and myself. They baby-sat them when they were small. We even lived with them for awhile. I will never forget all that grandma gave us, whether it was material things or just giving of herself.
My daughters and myself will be living here in "their" home.  It almost seems that I have come full circle.  This house....no matter what I do to it, will always be "their" home.  This home is filled with so many wonderful memories.  They lived here since 1964.  I, along with my sister and brother, have spent many a summer here with them.  We have seen this home change in many ways.....but it was always filled with LOVE!!!!!!
She will be greatly missed. THANK-YOU GRANDMA FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!! WE WILL NEVER EVER FORGET YOU AND HOW YOU TOUCHED OUR LIVES.

Grandma and Grandpa's Slide Show....
Please come visit and share their memories.

A few months ago, grandma asked me to build her a webpage. She said there was a need to make clothing that had velcro instead of buttons, zippers, or snaps. She thought she was still able to sew, even though she would try to crochet a dollie but couldn't remember how to. She wanted the webpage to get her business so she could sew and help people out. At the time, grandma was having difficulty with buttons, snaps, and zippers. She was relating to those that can't do those simple things in life. She wanted to help others like she always had.
Well grandma, here's your webpage. Not exactly the one you wanted me to do though. But I think that through these pages, the world will know what a wonderful and beautiful lady you were and still are.

Be thankful to God for what we do have and what we are able to do. There are so many others out there that are far less fortunate than we are. Always give to others and think of others first. When we truely give freely than the Lord will pour His blessings upon us. It is better to give than receive. Material things mean nothing, for they can come and go......it's the things I have stored up in Heaven that mean the world to me! Live each day as it's your last....cos it just might be. Say the "I love you's", the "I'm sorry's", the "Please forgive me's"..... you might not be able to say them again. Cherish family and friends! Life is too short! Show love to everyone you meet!
Let the world see Jesus in you!!
